eQuest - Energy Modeling Workshop Series, February 23-26, 2010
Franklin University, Columbus, OH

CGBF is offering introductory and intermediate workshops on Modeling New Buildings for architects, engineers and facility managers, with an advanced workshop on Modeling Existing buildings. Continuing education units are available for the four day series of workshops. Members of the American Institute of Architects will receive Eighteen (18) AIA HSW learning units for the three-day Introductory to Intermediate level workshop (February 23-25th). Note that the attendees must attend all three days to receive these LUs (credits will not be given for single day attendance).

Green Building School

Starting April 21st,
this eight-week program will be offered every Wednesday from 4 - 6 pm.

The program includes on-site trainings, tours and Green Building lectures for Commercial and Residential Construction. The classes will be led by industry experts in that topic. Class locations will vary according to the topic covered i.e. Tours, Classroom or On-Site Trainings.

Himachal imposes complete ban on polythene bags
The Indian state of Himachal Pradesh has imposed a total ban on the use of plastic bags, to start Oct. 2. "We (the government) are encouraging the public to use cotton and jute bags so that the complete ban (on polythene bags) can be imposed. We will also provide paper and jute bags to the tourists visiting the state as a symbolic gesture to mark Gandhi Jayanti (Friday)," he added. more...
