Grid Neutrality – Foundation for Energy Independence in the 21st Century

This presentation will provide attendee’s information on defining of what is “Grid Neutrality” and how this differs from “Zero Net Energy” and “Off-the-Grid”. It will outline the steps one should take and considerations one should make in placing the foundation of Grid Neutrality in their building design and operation. Attendees will be introduced to the California Grid Neutral: Electrical Independence for California Schools and Community Colleges document, which will be required in all new projects beginning in 2010, with a goal of achieving Grid Neutrality in all schools and community colleges by 2020.
